Epson Stylus SX400

The Stylus SX400 is the newest multifunction printer from Epson to offer printing, scanning and copying of documents and images with an affordable price tag. It compact so doesn’t take up much space on a desk and it looks pretty good too. Its all well and good an inkjet printer being cheap to buy but it also needs to be cheap to run in terms of the cost of its printer ink, and the SX400 falls short of this. Epson SX400 ink cartridges are economical because they consists of four separate Epson ink cartridges, one for each of the colours and this means when one of the colours runs out it is replaced and the others are unaffected and not wasted. The cost of the cartridges however is £30 a set which is slightly expensive when you consider that the device itself only cost £70, luckily there are compatibles available which cost half the price if you looking for real value for money. Performance wise the SX400 is very hard to find fault with, it weakest area is probably it printing speed which is not the strongest area for any inkjet printer. The print quality is worth the wait, the SX400 produces great result for all types of documents and images from text printing to high resolution photo prints. Its scanning capabilities are also impressive with a maximum resolution of 1200dpi and no problems with speed like printing. The photo copier makes use of the A4 scanner for produces copies with good quality and the speed is not bad because copying doesn’t require a high resolution setting. The photocopier is one of the SX400’s functions the works without the need for a PC as does the direct printing from memory cards and digital cameras which can be previewed on the LCD screen before printing. The SX400 offer a lot of features for not a lot of money.
